Summer Missionlab is starting soon! In less than a month, we will begin welcoming over 2,000 students and youth leaders who are getting ready to serve with MissionLab here in New Orleans.
This week we are continuing to introduce you to our Summer Missionaries that will be serving with us. These Summer Missionaries partner with MissionLab for 9 weeks of ministry. They are here to minister to the groups and help facilitate easy communication between the groups and the MissionLab staff. We are so thankful for the work they do here.
Please help us welcome our new team member, Brianna!
How old are you?
Are you in school? If so, where, and what are you studying?
Yes, at the University of Alabama in Birmingham studying Elementary Education.
Have you been to New Orleans before?
Yes, I went to NOLA in 2015.
What made you want to work for MissionLab?
I wanted to work for MissionLab because whenever I was there in 2015, I absolutely fell in love with it. Everyone was nice and so acceptive to what I had to share.
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this summer?
I am so excited to meet everyone I will be working with. I am also so excited to see what God has in store for me while I am there and how he will use me. I can’t wait to little myself and allow God to show just how big he is and how he can use someone like me.
What’s your favorite genre of music?
I love Contemporary Christian music of course, but I also love folk music… Judah and the Lion and Milky Chance.
What’s your favorite movie?
My favorite movie has to be Stuart Little.
What’s your favorite food?
My favorite food is Taco Bell and Red Barons pizza.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?
I can’t believe I am saying this, but if I am honest, the most embarrassing thing that has happened to me was when I was in elementary school. I was at my nanas with two of my cousins and we went to the playroom downstairs. We were gonna act like babies and sit in baby strollers. So I got in one of the strollers and had to fart, haha. So I did but it ended up being more than a fart.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I guess some of my hidden talents would be acting and knee boarding. I love anything on the water. I don’t know if this would be called a talent, but I am pretty good at embarrassing people in public. (I watch Impractical Jokers way too much haha.)
Would you rather have the power to fly, or the power of invisibility, and why?
If I could have the power to fly or be invisible, I would choose to fly simply because I go to UAB which is in the city. If I could fly, I wouldn’t have to sit in traffic everyday.
If you could use any quote to sum up your life, what would it be?
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
