Summer Missionlab is starting soon! In just a few weeks, we will begin welcoming over 2,000 students and youth leaders who are getting ready to serve with MissionLab here in New Orleans.
This week we want to introduce to you one of our Summer Interns, Marissa. The Summer Interns partner with MissionLab for 9 weeks of ministry. They are there to minister to the groups and to the Summer Missionaries as their mentors.
So, without further adieu, let’s welcome back Marissa, who has served as a Summer Missionary in the past and this year will be one of our Summer Interns.!
How old are you?
Are you in school? If so, where, and what are you studying?
I am a Master Student at NOBTS studying Apologetics
Have you been to New Orleans before?
I am a NOLA transplant. I’ve called NOLA home for three years now.
What made you want to work for MissionLab?
One of the reasons why I wanted to work for MissionLab is because they emphasize the command by Christ to share the Gospel with everyone. They strive to teach and equip believers to share the love of Christ by meeting the needs of the local community. I am thankful to be apart of that.
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this summer?
I am looking forward to seeing how God will move in the city of New Orleans and hearing the testimonies of my fellow partners in the Gospel. I am excited for the new relationships built and all of the fun memories to follow.
What’s your favorite genre of music?
It depends on my mood, but usually the playlist goes like this – indie folk, alt rock, rap and pop.
What’s your favorite movie?
Pride and Prejudice
What’s your favorite food?
Vietnamese – Pho
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?
In undergrad I was having to much fun with my friends and laughed sooooo hard that I peed my pants in front of all them. I just wanted to hide for forever.
Do you have any hidden talents?
No hidden talent here.
Would you rather have the power to fly, or the power of invisibility, and why?
I would like to have the power to fly, I would never get stuck in NOLA traffic again lol and who doesn’t like scenic views.
If you could use any quote to sum up your life, what would it be?
“Work hard for what you have, and never compromise on who you are”
There you go, folks, you’ve just met the last of the eight SM’s and Intern’s who will be serving with us this summer.
