MEET MATTHEW!!

Pete Uncategorized

Summer Missionlab is starting soon! In less than a month, we will begin welcoming over 2,000 students and youth leaders who are getting ready to serve with MissionLab here in New Orleans.

This week we are continuing to introduce you to our Summer Missionaries that will be serving with us.  These Summer Missionaries partner with MissionLab for 9 weeks of ministry. They are there to minister to the groups and help facilitate easy communication between the groups and the MissionLab staff.

Help us welcome Matthew!

How old are you?

18

Are you in school? If so, where, and what are you studying?

Yes! I am at Leavell College (NOBTS) getting a degree in Christian Ministry.

Have you been to New Orleans before?

Yes, I’ve been to MissionLab thrice and currecntly live on campus in NOLA.

What made you want to work for MissionLab?

MissionLab meant so much to me every time I went, I want to pass it on and serve the Lord!

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this summer?

Meeting all the new people and doing all the new things that I have the opportunity to do!

What’s your favorite genre of music?

Alternative/classical so long as it’s good and not country!

What’s your favorite movie?

Lord of the Rings, hands down.

What’s your favorite food?

Mac N Cheese. Or Cheeseburgers. Or Chees-sticks. Rally anything with cheese.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?

It’s hard to embarrass me, but one time I was in a rush to get ready, and around lunchtime I noticed my jeans felt a little weird. This makes sense, because they were my sisters jeans. To make it worse- I was spending the night with a friend that day and I didn’t have any other clothes. Guess what I got to sleep in!

Do you have any hidden talents?

I am learning how to code and speak German, but only just beginning!

Would you rather have the power to fly, or the power of invisibility, and why?

Definitely flying. I’m pretty nosy, and if I could be invisible I’d be tempted to pry on other people’s privacy. Also, flying would be exhilarating!

If you could use any quote to sum up your life, what would it be?

“A light shines in the darkness, behold, the darkness has not overcome it.”- John 1:5 Jesus is the light that always shines in spite of my sin!

There you go, folks, you’ve just met the seventh of the eight SM’s who will be serving with us this summer. We look forward to introducing the others to you in the following weeks.

If you’re bringing a group to serve with us this summer, we can’t wait to have you here!
