Where Are They Now? (MLab Guys)

mlab Uncategorized

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

We hope you enjoyed getting to hear an update from our wonderful ladies of MissionLab last week! It’s always nice to hear how friends are doing after not hearing from them for a while. Surely you guys haven’t forgotten about the other four summer missionaries, though. Without further ado, let’s catch up with our incredible guy summer missionaries!

Are you in school? If so, where at, what year, and what are you studying?
I am no longer in school, I graduated last semester with my associate’s and am thinking about getting my bachelor’s.
Are you working? If so, where at, and what do you do?
I am currently working at the Andrews center, where I am working one-on-one with kids with autism and teaching them life skills.
How are you using your experience in NOLA where you’re at now?
I am trying to use my training I received at MissionLab by being more bold about my relationship with Christ. In doing that I have started up a college group at my church.

Are you in school? If so, where at, what year, and what are you studying?
I am in school at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  I started my 2nd year of undergrad and I am a vocal major studying Music with an emphasis in worship!
Are you working? If so, where at, and what do you do?
I work at Ursuline Academy as an aftercare worker for early childhood.
How are you using your experience in NOLA where you’re at now?
Through the summer I learned to trust God with every aspect of my life and now that I’ve started my 2nd year of college, following God’s call on my life, I can look back at my summer working with MissionLab and remind myself that I may not see exactly what God has planned for me but I know I can take refuge in Him and know He has what is best for me.

Are you in school? If so, where at, what year, and what are you studying?
I am a junior at the University of Kentucky where I’m studying civil engineering.
Are you working? If so, where at, and what do you do?
I am working part-time at the Nike Factory Store in Simpsonville, KY. I do a little bit of everything there, including working the register, merchandising and filling product, customer servicing, and processing new product in the stockroom.
How are you using your experience in NOLA where you’re at now?
I have been seeking out ways to continue to simmer on the Gospel and apply it to all aspects of my life. I have become more comfortable and confident in sharing my faith with others and am working on ways to continue to recognize opportunities to share my faith and experiences with others.

Are you in school? If so, where at, what year, and what are you studying?
I am a junior at Valdosta State University studying international business.
Are you working? If so, where at, and what do you do?
I work at the after school program with students at the Boy’s & Girl’s Club.
How are you using your experience in NOLA where you’re at now?
I have learned useful ways of reaching out to other students on campus. I have found the most useful tool I acquired this summer is the confidence and trust I have in God while reaching out to others. I feel much more comfortable in any situation and I know how to use a situation for spreading the gospel. Also, I will hopefully be going on a mission trip to Haiti next spring where I will be able to put all of my experience to use!
