We have some very exciting news to share with you: our 2018 camp pastors! Each of them are so ready to meet all of you and preach the word of God into your lives at camp this year. We’re pumped to have them on our team this year, and we cannot wait for you to get here and meet them in real life! A virtual meeting will have to do for now, though. Without further ado, let’s meet our 2018 camp pastors!
Matthew is originally from Fayetteville, GA. After high school, he went to Shorter College and then Georgia College and State University to pursue a Communications degree. After resisting the ministry calling for a while, God made it clear to him that he needed to submit and follow God’s plan. He began to get his feet wet in ministry during his college years in youth and college ministry. After graduating college, God opened a door for him to serve in a College/Young Adult Ministry at First Baptist Spartanburg, SC. His time there laid the foundation for where he is today. God then called him to New Orleans, LA to pursue his Masters of Divinity degree at NOBTS. It was there that he began to see a different side of ministry. In 2014 he met his wife Emily, graduated seminary at the end of 2016 and got married in April of 2017. He now serves as the Connect Pastor at Vintage Church of New Orleans. He has a passion for the local church, reaching others for Christ, caring for people and bringing the truth of God’s Word to others.
Ryan Rice, Sr. is a native of New Orleans. After studying Mass Communications and Sociology at Dillard University, he proceeded to utilize his skills for communications by working in Corporate Communications, as well as Training and Development. After sensing a vocational call to ministry, Ryan went on as a children’s pastor at a large multi-campus church in Baton Rouge, La. In 2014, Ryan and his family moved back to New Orleans to plant Connect Church in the community of Algiers, where he grew up. Connect Church is now a multi-cultural, multi-generational church that seeks to serve the city of New Orleans with a message of hope, healing and restoration found in Jesus Christ. Ryan loves 70s and 80s old school music, trying new cuisines with his wife Seane’ and spending time with his four children: Ryan Jr., Brayden, Reagen and Bailey.
Brandon Langley met his wife, Anne Marie, in the third grade and pursued a relationship with her until the day she said “I do” just before their senior year of college. After receiving his B.A. in Christian Studies from Truett-McConnell College, and after serving as a youth pastor for several years, Brandon followed God’s calling to the city of New Orleans where he received his Masters of Divinity from NOBTS. Throughout his Masters degree, he served the city by launching a college ministry out of First Baptist Church of Kenner. In January of 2016, Brandon was sent out of FBC Kenner to start St. Rose Community Church, a North American Mission Board church plant in St. Rose, LA. God has blessed that gospel work tremendously and Brandon hopes to see it become a church planting church in the years to come. He has a passion for preaching God’s Word and for equipping young people for the work of the ministry. Brandon and Anne Marie have also just began the new adventure of parenthood with the welcoming of Owen Nehemiah Langley into the world October 10th, 2017.
