Summer Missionlab is starting soon! In just a couple short months, we will begin welcoming over 2,000 students and youth leaders who are getting ready to serve with MissionLab here in New Orleans.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing, one by one, our Summer Missionaries that will be serving with us.  These Summer Missionaries partner with MissionLab for 9 weeks of ministry. They are there to minister to the groups and help facilitate easy communication between the groups and the MissionLab staff.

So, without further adieu, let’s welcome back Ryan, who served with us last summer!

How old are you?

Are you in school? If so, where, and what are you studying?

Yes. I’m studying Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky.

Have you been to New Orleans before?

What made you want to work for MissionLab?

I had an awesome experience with MissionLab as a camper and the best summer ever last summer as an SM. God is working through MissionLab and I want to be apart of it.

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this summer?

Meeting new people and exploring new parts of the city

What’s your favorite genre of music?

What’s your favorite movie?

Remember the Titans

What’s your favorite food?

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?

In 6th grade math class I completely flipped over my desk and fell onto the floor with the desk on top of me while trying to pick up my pencil. The whole class was dead silent.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I know a lot of random facts about random things… if that counts as a talent.

Would you rather have the power to fly, or the power of invisibility, and why?

I would rather have the power of invisibility to be able to disappear when I want to, avoid being seen in public when I’m just not feeling it, and practice my spy skills by eavesdropping.

If you could use any quote to sum up your life, what would it be?

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” – Harper Lee

There you go, folks, you’ve just met the first of the eight SM’s who will be serving with us this summer. We look forward to introducing the others to you in the following weeks.
