Real Ministry, Not Busywork
High schoolers are ready for real responsibility. Teams serve through neighborhood evangelism, construction and community projects, VBS for local kids, food banks, and local churches, and in almost every case your team is the only group at its ministry site.

Equipped to Share Their Faith
Students go door to door and share the gospel in a city where Catholics, Muslims, atheists, Voodoo practitioners, and evangelicals live side by side. Missions training from NOBTS faculty and a daily team devotional prepare them before and during the week.

Camp Energy, Mission Focus
Three nights of worship with Crescent City Worship and a speaker, a Wednesday Night Out in the French Quarter or City Park, and campus gym and pool access. Students get the energy of summer camp without losing the mission.

Your Leaders Get to Lead
Housing, meals, and ministry placements are arranged for you, and a MissionLab Missionary serves alongside your team all week. Your adult leaders can focus on discipling students instead of managing logistics.
What a Week Looks Like
Your students arrive Sunday evening and check in on the NOBTS campus. Monday through Thursday starts with breakfast and a team devotional, then morning and afternoon ministry sites with a packed lunch in between. Evenings are dinner on campus followed by worship, except Wednesday, which is Night Out in New Orleans. Friday morning, you check out and head home.

Partnering with food banks and pantries to help organize, pack, and distribute food to families experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring that struggling individuals receive nourishment and encouragement.

Building relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness by providing essential supplies and encouragement through personal conversations and prayer. This ministry focuses on treating people with dignity while connecting them with local resources and long-term support.

I saw the Spirit moving through my students! The opportunities that were made available by this trip were so impactful not only on my youth group, but also on me. I think that not only did God use us to plant seeds in the lives of some lost people, he also lit a fire within some of my group. I've seen that they have a genuine love for the lost and the hurting.

Frequently Asked
How much does a high school mission trip with MissionLab cost?
$379 per student in dorm housing, or $439 in hotel-style housing, for standard Spring and Summer program weeks. That includes housing, meals Monday through Thursday, ministry site placements, worship nights, training, and a MissionLab shirt. Groups pay a 10% deposit within 30 days of registering, and the remaining 90% is due 30 days before arrival.
When are the summer high school mission trip dates?
Summer 2027 program weeks run from May 30 through July 30, with Spring weeks in March. Each week runs Sunday evening through Friday morning. Groups that need different dates can book a custom year-round trip.
What will high school students actually do?
Every week is built around our New Orleans ministry partners' needs. High school teams commonly serve through neighborhood canvassing and evangelism, construction and community projects, VBS for local kids, food banks, community gardens, nursing homes, and local churches. Ministry sites are matched to your group's maturity level.
Where do students stay, and is it safe?
Groups stay in campus housing at NOBTS, with check-in at a staffed guard shack. Housing is always single-gender, and rooms typically sleep four to six, so you can plan where your chaperones stay. A MissionLab Missionary is with your team all week, including at your ministry sites.
Is this a mission trip or a summer camp?
Both. Days are spent serving at ministry sites across New Orleans, and evenings feel like camp: worship with a live band and speaker, free time, and campus gym and pool access. That means MissionLab can be your group's summer camp and mission trip in one week.
Can middle school students come too?
Yes. MissionLab hosts middle school and high school youth groups, and many churches bring both. Ministry site placements are adjusted to fit your group.
What paperwork does our church need?
A certificate of insurance, background checks, and a rooming sheet are due no later than 60 days before arrival. Your MissionLab coordinator walks you through each one.
Are students allowed to have phones?
Each group leader decides whether students bring and use phones. We ask students to limit use so they stay focused on the mission, and phones are not permitted during worship except for Bible apps.
